Biochemical role of zinc in vivax malaria

چکیده
Introduction and Aim: Zinc is a micronutrient that has significant immune modulatory function, its deficiency known to increase the risk of plasmodium infection in humans Although inflammatory processes contribute elimination plasmodium, persistent inflammation underlying cause malaria pathology. Cholinesterases are carboxypeptidases zinc dependent indicators low-grade inflammation. Plasma butyryl cholinesterase, biomarker dietary status zinc. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) endopeptidases contain which take part reactions. They participate remodeling extracellular matrix aid tissue repair. The current investigation aims study association these metalloproteins with patients vivax malaria. Materials methods: zinc, butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) erythrocyte acetylcholinesterase (AChE) were estimated spectrophotometrically 100 50 healthy subjects. MMP9 was determined using ELISA. Results: markedly lower compared controls (p<0.05). Both BChE AChE decreased significantly (p<0.00) There an elevation malaria, although statistically insignificant. correlated positively showed positive correlation (r=0.405, p=0.05). Conclusion: highlights role pathology as it essential for maintenance several enzyme activities. Further, prompt administration micronutrients like may reduce related morbidity

Unstable vivax malaria in Korea.
Korean vivax malaria had been prevalent for longtime throughout the country with low endemicity. As a result of the Korean war (1950-1953), malaria became epidemic. In 1959-1969 when the National Malaria Eradication Service (NMES) was implemented, malaria rates declined, with low endemicity in the south-west and south plain areas and high endemic foci in north Kyongsangbuk-do (province) and nor...
متن کاملOxidative Stress in Vivax Malaria
Malaria is still a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. The increase in lipid peroxidation reported in malaria infection and antioxidant status may be a useful marker of oxidative stress during malaria infection. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of antioxidant enzymes against toxic reactive oxygen species in patients infected with Plasmodium vivax and healthy controls. Mal...

The Cambodian National Strategic Plan for Elimination of Malaria aims to move step by step toward elimination of malaria across Cambodia with an initial focus on Plasmodium falciparum malaria before achieving elimination of all forms of malaria, including Plasmodium vivax in 2025. The emergence of artemisinin-resistant P. falciparum in western Cambodia over the last decade has drawn global atte...

We report 11 cases of severe Plasmodium vivax malaria in Bikaner (western India). Patients exhibited cerebral malaria, renal failure, circulatory collapse, severe anemia, hemoglobinurea, abnormal bleeding, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and jaundice. Peripheral blood microscopy, parasite antigen-based assays, and parasite 18s rRNA gene-based polymerase chain reaction showed the presence o...
متن کاملPlasmodium vivax cerebral malaria.
We report two cases of Plasmodium vivax malaria (both aged 12 years) complicated by seizures and symptoms of diffuse meningoencephalitis. One had predominantly meningeal signs while in the other, purely encephalitis features were present. Both cases were treated with artesunate. Rarely, cerebral malaria is a presenting complication or occurs during the course of P. vivax infection.
